Garden Vignettes Woodland Renewal Recently, you transformed an outlot in the heart of Duxbury into a visual and ecological feast as part of an inspiring Woodland Restoration . Recently rehabilitating this green space in the Hingham, Marshfield, Plymouth, South Duxbury, and Cohasset areas to restore its power to heal for the people living there is what our mission was all refurbishing the rehabilitation of these native ecological systems. The outset of the consisted of a comprehensive evaluation of the pre-existing biota. Expert landscapers systematically removed invasive species that had settled in to reclaim the area for native plants. Our planting included a variety of local trees (including Eastern Redbuds), shrubs (like Wild Hydrangea), and wildflowers (such as Black-eyed Susans) to create a diverse palette of plants for local wildlife and a healthy ecosystem. The main struggles were with the uneven ground and faulty soil which always called for natural compost and mulch to assure the best conditions for growing. We have worked with earthworks specialists to carefully grade the land in a way that integrates natural contours that will capture water and soil, preventing erosion and providing pathways for visitors into the restored woodland. Natural stone pathways and seating areas built from locally sourced materials were installed to improve the user experience. Not only was this appealing to the eye, but it integrated into the landscape as well. Thoughtful material choices enabled a low-carbon , staying true to our approach on sustainability. The end product you see here is a stunning woodland hideaway, pleasing our client and the wider community alike. The place is now alive with lush greenery, live blooms and a sound of chirping birds a space of quiet meditation, rest.
