Desert Springs Marketplace The Desert Springs Marketplace was masterfully finished by Leon's Landscaping & Tree Service Inc. and turned a previously bleak commercial location into a lively oasis, truly showcasing the Coachella Valley's local allure. Our team partnered with the communities of Cathedral City, Coachella, Indio, Palm Desert and Palm Springs rose to the challenge of designing a water-wise landscape in a desert environment. Consisting mainly of drought-tolerant native plants, the includes an abundance of stunning succulents, versatile desert wildflowers, and a variety of ornamental grasses that can withstand the trials of our extreme climate. Using high quality materials including permeable pavers and reclaimed stone, our team beautified the marketplace while also conserving water. We were forced to come up with creative grading solutions and soil amendments to deal with the uneven terrain and poor soil quality that were part of the site challenges. Careful planning, preparation, and execution took place to promote good drainage and root health in preparation for abundant greenery. The end-product, is a beautiful landscape which not only complements the aesthetics of the marketplace but also creates an inviting environment for some shopping! Winding paths, seating clusters, shaded pergolas all set the scene for informal gatherings and much needed time out. The targeted plant selections have beauty in all four seasons and provide a habitat and food for local wildlife, adding to the ecosystem. The client was thrilled with the end result and complimented us on our meticulousness and the quality. Today, the Desert Springs Marketplace is an example of how Leon's Landscaping & Tree Service Inc. integrates living and hard materials to deliver functionality and beauty to create an environment that feels like home to the natural world and the senses of others.
