Synopsis: Foliage & Steps - Woodland Park, Seattle Borealis Landscape & Design, also known as Skipley Farm, proudly presents the Foliage & Steps in Woodland Park, Seattle. This took a rough and sloped site and created beautiful, useful landscape features. It represents our dedication to quality construction and beauty in landscape design while serving various communities of the Pacific Northwest. The 's primary feature is a gorgeous series of natural stone steps, made of granite from a local supplier. The steps are beautiful to look at as they go up through the lush woodland, but we also made sure they are suitable for the Seattle climate, which often creates issues for durable landscaping. Navigating a steep incline is a challenge when considering the surrounding foliage. Our overall plant palette included a system of planting only species that thrive in this climate. The mix includes a variety of ferns, native shrubs, and a multi-seasonal blooming plant program to complement the existing natural features. One of the ways we enhanced the overall landscape was through an aggressive drainage control system. This addition ensures that the extreme rain we see in the region does not erode the steps or drown the newly planted life. The drainage control system is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and future viability in our designs. In summary, the end product is a successful blend of functional and natural features. The mere existence of the steps opened up the site for accessibility and permitted the client to have a scenic pathway to visit the landscape. Ultimately, an opportunity was born from a challenge; the client is proud of the improvements to their garden, and our goal was achieved. The Foliage & Steps exemplifies our love and attention to detail when it comes to your outdoor space.
