Harmony Ranch Introducing 'Harmony Ranch' located in San Luis Obispo County's beautiful interior, is a remarkable landscape design by Jeffrey Gordon Smith Landscape Architecture, recognized for their design artistry and quality. The expansive ranch area comprises of a harmonious combination of design that includes native planting, textured hardscaping, and sustainable design principles that respect the Central Coast environment. The includes thoughtfully designed outdoor living spaces, such as a peaceful courtyard animated throughout the seasons with drought-tolerant native planting. This outdoor retreat enhances ecological harmony while offering a simple respite. Pathways and retaining walls are made of locally-sourced stone, which not only adds beauty to the , but will be enduring through changing weather. Firepits and seating are thoughtfully designed to concentrate activity in desired areas of recreation or relaxation; inviting family, friends and guests to enjoy the property. An early, major challenge in design was the topography - varying elevations throughout the property. The design team at Jeffrey Gordon Smith Landscape Architecture worked together to design terraces that created flat spaces for recreation and relaxation, while managing water runoff in a practical, beautiful way. The solution not only responded to the topographical challenges, but added dimension and depth to property. The end result is a beautiful outdoor scene that the client loves, with a thriving garden that attracts local wildlife and supports an interesting view throughout the year.
