About This Project

Scott and Melissa Landscape Designed by our Landscape Designer, Jason Lackey, the Scott and Melissa Landscape is a fantastic example of our passion for quality, creativity, and sustainability. Scott and Melissa needed their backyard redesigned to fit their needs and it did not function well, nor was it aesthetically pleasing. Jason started by evaluating the yard and the unique challenges of the space - sloped from front to back and very low light conditions. To address these issues, Jason created tiered garden beds using locally sourced stone to provide level, useful space with good drainage. In addition, he chose native plants that will survive in a low water requirement and the Texas environment, which has the added bonus of being sustainable. A hallmark of the custom design was creating a natural flagstone patio to blend naturally in the landscape, enabling the homeowner to have an outdoor living experience with a fire pit to enjoy some friends under the stars. For additional color and interest, Jason selected ornamentals and perennials to keep color and texture consistent throughout the seasons. Jason's attention to detail was remarkable: All elements blended carefully, including the lighting to accentuate highlights, and the new drip irrigation to save water and keep the grasses and plants lush. The result was a finished which both the designer and the clients were above their expectations, a backyard transformed from bare landscape to a quiet friendly oasis of style and function. Our material choices in the design that were artfully displayed signal high quality craftsmanship and professional design - values which we intend to represent at Jason Lackey Landscape Design.
