About This Project

Dan and Tom Landscape The 'Dan and Tom' , completed by Jason Lackey, Landscape Designer, was a showcase of beautiful design and great craftsmanship in Dallas, Texas. This landscaping took a neglected backyard and transformed it into a vibrant outdoor extension of the clients' living spaces. This features a stone patio made of locally sourced, natural flagstone that serves as a durable and beautiful surface, blending into the surrounding landscape. A custom fire pit made of rustic brick adds a cozy spot for family and friends to gather. When we got into the work, there was a significant challenge with the slope of the yard that we overcame by developing terraced garden beds built with natural boulders and native plants. The terraced beds allowed us to keep natural and aesthetic transitions between the multiple levels of garden, and allowed for increased functionality. We specified our plants to include drought-resistant varieties such as Texas sage and ornamental grasses. The water conservation while at the same time providing color and texture plus screening throughout the seasons was actually quite luxurious! The client was delighted with the outcome. The hardscaping and softscaping phenomenon achieved a balance between class and comfort, making the yard a place for entertaining and relaxation. Dan and Tom are thrilled with their "new" outdoor space, which reflects quality workmanship and exceptional design by Jason Lackey! This is now more than just a backyard; it is a personal retreat that suits their lifestyle and love of the outdoor. Their home has also gained an enhanced landscape visual while maintaining fair market value in Dallas, Texas.
