Dan and Pam's Oasis - Designed by Jason Lackey, Landscape Designer, the Dan and Pam exemplifies the combination of function and beauty in residential landscape architecture. A Dallas Home that took a basic backyard and turned it into a beautiful outdoor oasis designed to the homeowner's wants and needs. In the beginning of the , Jason worked with Dan and Pam in a detailed design consultation discussing their vision of the outdoor space. Dan and Pam expressed their desire to have a space used for both relaxation, as well as, a place for entertaining guests. They wanted a nice patio area that was well-designed, with beautiful greenery and flowering plant beds. Jason delivered with a design that featured a multi-level patio with pavers made from sustainable materials, dividing the outdoor space into dining and leisure areas. These permeable materials allowed for proper water draining and sustainability. One of the challenges Jason faced with the was the level and slope of the backyard. This was mitigated with the use of elegant retaining walls made from local stone. The walls allowed for the architectural and structural support in the design, but also dealt with the slope and graded areas of the yard. To add visual beauty, the stone walls were complemented with tiered garden beds with an assortment of native plant species to provide habitat, beauty, and lower maintenance for Dan and Pam. To create a mood and charm to the overall space, Jason strategically placed lighting throughout the area. Softly lit LED lights, offered safe pathing and viewers or guests to enjoy the space. The handcrafted water fountain offered beauty and a soft joyful sound while serving as a material focal point. The overall plant plan selected, with bold perennials, melting seamlessly into the assumed landscape with hardy shrubs that contributed branches or foliage that was colorful and textural throughout the seasons. When the came to fruition, Dan and Pam were overwhelmed with how beautiful the job turned out. They had added to their home with open indoor/ outdoor space and an ability to entertain or host their family with ease. This , among many others, showcases Jason Lackey's workmanship and commitment to an outstanding job, turning Dan and Pam's backyard into their dream garden at their Dallas home.
