Whimiscal Knot garden

Creative Landscapes, Inc. has transformed a tired, 1,900-square foot yard in Garden City into a dazzling example of creative landscape design in the Whimsical Knot Garden . The garden plan itself allows the colors of the flowers to shine in conjunction with the beauty of the hardscape that was carefully chosen and properly placed to allow the plants to be spectacular. All of the plants were especially chosen for their native coastal characteristics for our beaches in Murrells Inlet and Myrtle Beach. In order to add whimsical design, we installed winding pathways in varying shades of locally gathered flagstone, accented by colorful mosaic stepping stones scattered throughout so that visitors will have to journey to explore each entry into a nook or cranny. At the center of the garden is a knot garden, where lavender and boxwoods were arranged to form lines in a playful geometric pattern, encouraging visitors to peek into every corner of the garden. One of the biggest challenges we faced was dealing with the sandiness of the soil. We utilized the planning phase of the to develop an individualized soil amendment program, balanced with healthy plants and soil amendments to meet their needs. Our skilled team at Creative Landscapes, Inc. addressed the garden demands with a comprehensive drainage system that allowed us to meet and satisfy any possible hold back water issues in hopes for all plants to thrive each time we receive a rain, and we do get a lot of rain here during the spring and summer months. Recently installed, we finished it off with our water feature, where the soothing sound of bubbling waters does greatly complement the various plantings in a lively atmosphere. The client was ecstatic. However, we truly blew their minds by surpassing the entrance into the whimsical knot garden of their dreams, a place of vibrant colors that still provided a peaceful entry to their home. As it stands, this is another beautiful example of creative landscapes' focus on sustainable practises, gardens in motion, quality craftmanship and attention to detail and will have all of the residents of Pawley’s Island, Socastee, Surfside Beach and Georgetown ooing and ahhhing over the charm and elegance of our garden.
