About This Project

Narrative: San Diego Asian Bungalow by Mooch Exterior Designs, Inc. The 'San Diego Asian Bungalow' is located in the center of San Diego and demonstrates the combination of traditional Asian design with contemporary gardens by Mooch Exterior Designs, Inc. We serve all of the communities from La Jolla to Coronado, and had the pleasure of enhancing this bungalow's outdoor space into a welcoming outdoor retreat that aligns with the architecture. This included a koi pond situated in a peaceful corner of the garden and bordered with ferns and bamboo, which allows the client to escape the city bustle without leaving San Diego. Naturally stacked stone pathways, sourced locally, lead a visitor through the garden and its many niches. The use of drought resistant plants enhances the visual effect of the garden and ensures the is sustainable while also fitting comfortably within the context of San Diego and the climate. One of the challenges was an uneven landscape. Our designers took careful measurements and graded the land to create balance and accessibility, allowing each element to flow into and support one another. The gorgeous wooden gazebo was built with weather-resistant wood and provides a stunning focal point while engaging the client and guests in the garden. Color, texture, and form visually connect the together as a cohesive unit. This displays the level of detail and quality Mooch Exterior Designs places into each of their s. Our client is also happy to escape to their garden retreat, which serves as a peaceful place for the client to enjoy their landscape to the fullest. Once again, this highlights the skill of Mooch Exterior Designs, while validating our purpose in creating intentional landscapes to better communities throughout San Diego.
