Historic House Transformed by Landscape Workshop Located in the center of Lexington, the Historic House Transformed by Landscape Workshop illustrates our commitment to landscaping with quality and creativity. This complete renovation provided the grounds of a lovely 19th-century residence with an inviting, lush outdoor oasis that flowed beautifully with the historical architecture. We faced unique challenges in completing the , such as maintaining the integrity of the original layout while creating a very functional space for the homeowners. The use of native plants was essential both for sustainability and color throughout the seasons. A beautiful perennial garden bloomed in succession and added immediate beauty and biodiversity to the landscape. We also used reclaimed stone for all of the pathways. This style of river rock is naturally beautiful and durable but maintains much of the historic feel and presence. The home itself has beautiful architectural that were showcased in the night with an extensive lighting plan incorporating LED technology. This illuminated the architecture of the home and extended the outdoor living space into the evening. Additionally, we constructed a custom pergola and client inspired climbing vines to create shaded areas for lounging. We were able to navigate our obstacles, such as site access for equipment, and the delicate care necessary of multiple existing mature trees. The result for the landscape is stunning and was received lovingly by the clients. The property looks amazing, improving curb appeal and its historic charm, setting the stage for the owners' enjoyment and lifelong memories in Lexington/Fayette and neighboring towns such as Georgetown, Sadieville, and Richmond.
