NY Rooftop Deck/Garden Makeover Info NY Plantings Garden Design is pleased to debut the NY Rooftop Deck and Garden Redesign, a where transforming an outdoor living space for a discerning Manhattan client moved the boundaries of urban exterior design. ChallengeOur team was challenged to convert an underutilised rooftop area into a beautiful and functional multi-functional garden oasis. The started with an extensive study of the working site, considering the specific issues of rooftop gardening with limited weight load and open air space. In order to mitigate these challenges we used lighter more durable materials like composite decking as well as self watering planters to ensure that plants are still healthy while keeping maintenance to a minimum. Our design embraces a beautiful selection of native plants and herbs, performing well in the urban environment creating a lush appearance. Vertical gardens created a maximum use of space, and the implementation of weather-resistant material seating areas allowed for an enticing area of relaxation and entertainment. Turning the rooftop into a year-round gathering destination, custom benches and a fire were added and a chicken coop was built to finish up the space. Among its more standout components, the redesign features a gorgeous trellis with climbing vines that adds shade and privacy while still allowing unobstructed skyline views. Finishing touches such as energy-efficent LED lighting that beautify the space at night creating a magical atmosphere were completed as part of the The client was absolutely thrilled with the final result, which now functions as a calm oasis above a busy city: ideal for peaceful mornings and boisterous evenings with friends.
