This move started with a plan to install a much more welcoming entry that would greatly increase the property curb appeal. The stone path of a modern houseThe included a custom stone path, made of premium local granite pavers which were selected based on their natural beauty and longevity. To enhance the walkway, we incorporated a beautiful mix of ornamental shrub and ornamental grass perennial materials that bloom throughout the growing season to create a visually stunning clinical pathway. Evergreens were selected to bring year-round interest, chosen to frame the entrance such a beautiful sight even in the winter months. The main challenge we encountered during this was the existing slope which was also the reason I had to take down the fence to grade the area with the dirt and create a flat area for later pouring concrete which ensured proper drainage and access. Using a few specialized techniques, our experienced team established how to redirect water flow to avoid erosion and protect the landscape we just created. Because they did not do any site preparation work for converting the structure to the new use, the design wisely incorporated a custom retaining wall to manage the slope and a striking visual element, built from natural stone in a way that mimics the local geography. This an absolutely beautiful entrance that speaks to the exacting expectation of the client level and then some. The placement of the hardscape and landscape to bridge the gap from the curb to the home provides the size on either side while melting the structure to these two components within the function and beauty of the home. The client was thrilled with the resulting transformation and felt it made a great difference in the overall look of their home and the immediate value of their home.
