Featured - Oregon Jewish Life Completed by: Wolfstone Landscape Design In Oregon, Wolfstone Landscape Design had the opportunity to work with Oregon Jewish Life on a comprehensive landscape rooted in high quality, creativity, and functionality. The purpose of this large landscaping was to create a peaceful and welcoming outdoor space for community gatherings and personal reflection, in the spirit of the Jewish community. At Wolfstone Landscape Design, we worked in partnership with the client to design a vibrant landscape that includes a variety of native plants, verdant foliage, and colorful blooms. Our design choices reflected sustainability while showcasing the natural beauty of the Oregon landscape. We also made durable material choices, including permeable pavers and natural stone paths, to create circulation points throughout the landscape and to improve aesthetics while better managing drainage and promoting ecological health. One of the challenges we undertook in this was creating a layout for the landscape that could accommodate different types of event; whether a big celebratory function for many, or a more intimate event for a few. We designed flexible seating areas, an oasis meditation garden, and a beautiful focal point of a custom pergola with climbing vines, which allowed us to create flexible multi-functional spaces based on the needs of the community. The final product is a marriage of beauty and utility, with thoughtful plant choices that will create year round interest and color. The landscape has become a precious sanctuary for the community, and contemplates community connection and contemplation. The clients were excited the change, and expressed appreciation for contextual choices that reflected the surrounding properties.
