About This Project

'Before & After' from Poole's Stone and Garden, Inc., At Poole's Stone and Garden, Inc., we believe that every outdoor space can be turned into a beautiful oasis. Our recent 'Before & After' series showcases our commitment to transforming landscapes throughout the heart of Maryland, from the communities of Adamstown to Urbana. This focused on a residential home in Frederick, where our clients wanted to take their tired and overgrown garden and create a welcoming retreat. During our first consultation, we noticed a few issues with the space, including poor drainage, shady spots with not enough plants, and aging hardscaping that did not complement the home. After discussing these , our design team worked on laying out a design plan that fit the possible plants and materials. We wanted to use a mix of native plants and colorful perennials that would grow well in the Maryland climate, and we used nice materials like locally sourced stone for the new pathways and decorative boulders that would sit well with their natural surroundings. The stone patio was a highlight of the , an ideal spot to host family and friends. We worked to manage drainage issues with a simple slope away from the house to take care of any runoff. The clients also wanted a fire pit with attractive landscaping, and we designed that area perfectly too. The 'before and after' photos were incredible. The once forlorn garden is now full of color in bloom, inviting pathways, and an outdoor space that all can use. Our clients were over the moon with the final product, and we think they were surprised at how much curb appeal was gained from the work and how much joy they found from using the garden area of their property.
