About This Project

Shade Garden in Town Landscape Workshop is excited to present, 'Shade Garden in the Town', an excellent renovation reflecting our commitment to quality, creativity, and sustainability. Located in Lexington, this was designed to turn an underused yard into a soothing space with lush green and colorful blooms. The goal was to create a beautiful space that would thrive in a low-light situation and still look great all year round. Our team selected a variety of moisture-loving, shade-tolerant plants, including hostas, ferns, and astilbes, which not only thrived, but added texture and dimension to the landscape. We added natural stone pathways that meander through the new lush plant material to enhance the garden's interest and encourage exploration. We had the challenge of uneven grade, which we addressed using terracing methods to create structure and better drainage. Our team sourced excellent permeable materials whenever possible to support sustainability and maintainability. Our craftsman laid a nice flagstone patio complete with seating areas so the client could enjoy their quiet time. The end result is an incredibly enjoyable shade garden that draws from the natural surroundings, complete with a refuge for homeowners and guests. The combination of colors and textures created an inviting space that demonstrates our commitment to excellence and attention to detail. The client was thrilled with the transformation, and the serves as a testament to the services Landscape Workshop provides in the beautifully functional spaces we create for clients in Lexington, Georgetown and beyond.
