Salina, KS Shade Structure & Landscape Beds At Landscape Consultants LLC, we were honored to complete the Salina, KS Shade Structure & Landscape Beds , which revitalized a rarely used outdoor space into a tranquil retreat. The was designed and built by our team, including a custom shade structure that offers relief from the Kansas sun while also becoming a gathering space. We began the with a comprehensive analysis of the site to determine the best location for the structure and perfect placement within the landscape while utilizing the space as effectively as possible. The custom-built shade structure features cedar beams that are weather-resistant with a durable fabric canopy for aesthetic appeal and long term protection from the elements. Cedar beams offer longevity against deterioration while also making the space visually appealing. We designed lush landscape beds around the structure that utilized a selection of native plants that included ornamental grasses and colorful perennials. Native plants are typically hardy and low maintenance. A challenge we faced was varying distances in elevation and drainage issues with the site. Our team built a creative grading solution to allow drainage of water away from the site to mitigate erosion and keep the plants healthy. Finished with decorative stone edging and mulching, our design helped retain moisture for the plants while also enhancing the aesthetic. The final product combined functionality and beauty that pleased our clients. The shade structure and landscape beds became a gathering space for family and friends where they could enjoy being outside once again.
