The urns selected for the were chosen to work with the surrounding environment and to add a decorative element to the landscape. This began with a site assessment to determine where to place the water feature for the best sightlines and the best sound qualities. The client expressed a desire for a tranquil space, and the team was able to meet those needs with the selection of some really nice slate urns. The slate tones work well with the peaceful tones of the garden and they also hold up against the weather. The construction process involved the creation of a multi-level basin system to allow water to flow from the urn to the basin below, creating inviting sound opportunities and a peaceful oasis. To further enhance the visual impact of the new feature, we added plantings of a few native plants to buffer the urn with vibrant colors and varying textures that work well with the Michigan growing season. One of the challenges was the undulating slope in the client's yard. The landscaping team leveled out the area and put in place a level and secured base for the urns to be planted firmly in place.
