Our experienced landscape team performed an analysis of the site to understand the unique conditions with an uneven and sloped site that can be problematic. We chose quality materials that are sustainable while still being pleasing to the eye by using natural stone and interlocking concrete blocks. The design was a multiple tiered retaining wall that aesthetically complemented the existing landscape while providing structural support to the immediate area. A significant challenge was appropriately managing the washing of water, which might compromise the wall structures. We made sure to properly install a proper overall drainage system behind the walls to wash off water away from the walls, which would also protect the surrounding landscape. This ensures not only proper drainage, but also protects and enhances various plant and landscaping in the area. In the end, the result was a very appealing retaining wall system that not only offered provided structural support for the landscape, but also was beautiful and made the client's outdoor area much more functional. The walls had a natural stone finish that blended very well with the surrounding green landscape. The client was very happy saying the wall not only made it functional for their yard but greatly enhanced the visual aesthetics of the property.
