Located in New Orleans, this exemplifies our quality and craftsmanship not only for the local communities but also across state lines to Mississippi. This large-scale landscape consists of a modern yet classic mix of traditional-style bricks, characteristic pathways and native plantings. MASSING STUDYSITE ANALYSThis started with a site analysis to determine the optimal layout of both program and site massing. We sourced local bricks that were handpicked for their earth-tone durability to create a meandering pathway that draws the gaze through the garden, leading guests and residents on an adventure through the journey of the garden. During the , one of our major hurdles was dealing with the inclinational landscape common to the region. Our experienced team levelled the site and added dry built retaining walls from local stone to build tiered garden beds which add visual interest and drainage. His careful planning would keep the landscape thriving even during difficult weather conditions, a frequent culprit in New Orleans. Mixed in with stunning beauty, the planting scheme was designed to be sustainable in its native flora using species that thrive in the local climate. With azaleas bursting into color, gardenias tempting our noses, and ferns blasting their green all summer the Garden is a paradise that adapts to the seasons. There was also quite a bit of light added throughout the garden, lighting the paths and exposing the features that made the garden a quiet retreat in the evening. What resulted was a stunning landscape that exuded New Orleans charm, but also satisfied the lifestyle and functionality needs of the homeowners. Our clients were thrilled with the outcome as they now have a perfect combination of nature and design on their property, melded into one background.
