Garden Doctors Landscaping Landscape & Plant Designs At Garden Doctors Landscaping we are bursting out of the seams to present you our 'Landscape & Plant Designs' , a patio that has change outdoor spaces in New Orleans, Louisiana and Mississippi for the better. Their inspiration was to design a space that combined both style and function specific to the local climate and culture and so began this ambitious . We created a unique landscape tailored to meet the needs of the surrounding environment, incorporating native Louisiana species such as colorful azaleas, towering live oaks, and fragrant gardenias into the design so that the vegetation would survive the use (and weather). Decorative stone pathways and high-end hardwood decking were also used in the as part of an effort to improve aesthetics, while also creating functional outdoor living spaces for the family to create lasting memories in. The fluctuating soil quality of the area, and the high volumes of rainfall notorious for the region were among the major challenges we faced. We countered this by using French drains and bio-swale drainage systems to filter and catch excess water while still keeping the plants dry. Our landscape team chose drought tolerant species, allowing the landscape to survive weather events that vary from exceptionally dry to abundantly moist. What emerged was simply stunninga green, inviting, harmonious space that marries nature with design (with just a bit of help from our friends). The end result was that our clients were thrilled to achieve their dreamscape, and praised us for the attention to detail and focus on collaboration we achieved as part of the process.
