Cozy Cove Waterfront The Watershed Company is excited to showcase the 'Cozy Cove Waterfront' ; this was a beautiful transformation, nestled on the calm shores of Western Washington. This landscaping was vibrant and dynamic, creating a peaceful outdoor retreat, in accordance with the surrounding ecological context. Prior to landscaping, our team completed a thorough site analysis. We had to evaluate the topography of the land, and the native plant specimen, which form the basis for the sustainable landscaping plan we presented to our client. A sustainable landscaping plan included native plants and native shrubs, such as the ferns of the Pacific Northwest, which are contributions to the aesthetic appeal of the landscape and promote diversity, while supporting biodiversity and local wildlife. One of the primary challenges was the steep slope proceeding down to the water's edge. As a solution, our landscaping plan included a succession of terraced garden beds supporting locally sourced stone-walled, which stabilized the slope, that drew in key features of the surrounding landscape. The terraced slope became a beautiful backdrop that created a welcoming place to plant or relax while enjoying the view. A central feature of the Cozy Cove Waterfront is a beautiful wooden deck constructed from environmentally friendly materials, which will resist degradation while remaining usable for years to come. The large deck invites an inviting view of the waterfront, and may be utilized for family events, barbeques, or a quiet space to watch the sunsets. To frame the inviting deck, the plan included low-maintenance artificial turf, which allowed for a lush-base of green, without upkeep year-round. The two features of the pathways made of natural stone weaving through the garden was part of the overall feel of the garden that we hoped would draw people in, as they passed through beautiful flower beds to a wrap around the dock, and discover new elements of the garden, especially during the day. Ambient lighting was started key features as soon as the sun went down; invading a warmth and charm throughout the landscape. The Cozy Cove Waterfront turned out even better than we expected and transformed our client's backyard into an outdoor venue that embraces the beauty of nature and space that is perfect using, as they intended.
