Diablo View by Ripley Design Group Nestled in the beautiful community of Diablo, Ripley Design Group's 'Diablo View' landscaping redefines outdoor living with a natural elegance. The goal of the homeowners was to create a peaceful, functional space that would frame the stunning views from their property. Our team responded to this challenge with an exacting design of hardscape and softscape elements that enjoy the complementary relationship with the surrounding landscape. The features beautiful stone patio spaces, made from locally sourced flagstone, that gracefully assimilate into the natural feeling of the site and provide a hard surface for entertaining family and friends outdoors. Seating walls which were custom built of natural boulders add to the space by creating intimate nooks for conversation, while never losing sight of the stunning views to the Diablo foothills. The steep topography of the lot was an additional challenge of the . Our team of professionals designed sections of graded planting beds that created tiered gardens to maximize space while allowing for proper drainage and soil retention. We chose a diverse palette of high-quality drought resistant plants, including many California native plants such as lilacs and manzanitas which thrive in our climate with little or no maintenance. Our planting design supported the seasonal blooms providing color and texture during all seasons and moderated throughout. For the finishing touches, we added various types of lighting which illuminated the architectural features of the home while accentuating the beauty all around the gardens and outdoor spaces that are designed to welcome evening use. We created a calming soundscape by adding a water feature for a peaceful ambience. Upon completion, the 'Diablo View' exceeded our clients’ expectations and had dramatically changed their property into an expansive outdoor oasis to bring family together while also serving as a peaceful retreat.
