About This Project

Margie's Entry Landscape At Gardens ALIVE Design it is our pride and joy to not just create yard spaces but landscapes that blossom with the taste and luxury of how you choose to live your life. A showcase of some of our incredible quality, detail and craftsmanship in the recently completed 'Margie's Entry Landscape' in the beautful community of Bellevue. The inspiration for this started with the concept of an entryway that moved smoothly between function and beauty. WE SOLVED THIS BY USING STYLISH BLUESTONE PAVERS, WHICH PROVIDE A SLIP RESISTANT BUT DURABLE SURFACE WHILST ALSO FRESHENING UP THE LOOK OF ENTRY. We planted a very specific group of native shrubs and perennial flowers that blossom at different times of the year next to these pavers that are around 3 inches thick, and these pavers will last forever and are also very visually pleasing. Not only does it support the ecosystem, it provides a consistent interplay of color and texture with the existing landscape. We had to tackle a couple of issues one being the angle of the hill where it going to the front door. We designed tiered garden beds that not only addressed the elevation issue but added dimensionality to the landscape. A wooden trellis with climbing vines serves as a focal point to draw visitors inside the yard, providing shade and shelter at the same time. The end result is a whimsical entry landscape that embodies Margies vision; warm, colourful and sustainable. The use of natural materials, plantings that both protect Margie’s entry and serve as a masterclass on plant combination and a skilled hand have done just that, in a way that delights Margie and her guests in equal measure. We are excited to have contributed to the aesthetic of Bellevue through Gardens ALIVE Design, and we welcome more s that inspire and engage with the community.
