Smart Cole | Addition & Renovation Pony Lawncare and Landscaping is thrilled to present the Smart Cole Addition & Renovation , located in Powell, Ohio and bringing a much needed refresh to outdoor spaces in this residential development. This involved a complete redesign of the existing backyard garden to increase both its aesthetic appeal and usefulness for the client. All of their needs were addressed and the garden was also linked to the natural landscape that surrounds it. The design included a total redesign of the existing backyard and significant native plantings were used to minimize maintenance while emphasizing sustainable landscaping. Materials ranged from quality stone pathways accented by wood trellises to ensure durability and low maintenance. The site presented another challenge; the yard was not flat. The new design accommodated the terrain by including tiered garden beds throughout, giving interest, height, and of course, better drainage to mitigate any standing water in the yard. In conjunction with the plants were lounge areas to enjoy the outdoors, which included a custom wood burning fire pit for social and leisure gatherings, serving another need. The design had to integrate successfully with the existing landscape design and I had to strike a balance so the fire pit could not oversaturate the design and eat away at other areas, which was ultimately satisfied. The result of this effort in landscaping was a transformed outdoor space that exceeded the clients expectations. The variety of colors, textures, and scents created an exceptional space that invites visitors to explore every inch of the newly designed garden.
