About This Project

Waterway 2 by TruDesign Studio TruDesign Studio is excited to announce the “Waterway 2,” a remarkable transformation that marries natural beauty with sophisticated outdoor living in the tranquil coastal areas of Myrtle Beach, of course, maintaining the spirit of coastal living and working through the unique challenges of the site. The process began with an investigation of the site and determining the existing conditions only to discover that an effective drain system might be needed because of the proximity to the water. Our talented team began with a grading solution that would allow rainwater to appropriately drain without sacrificing the beautiful landscapes we've created in the space. Our included a diverse collection of native plants, including more colorful ornamental grasses and resilient perennials that contribute to the landscape while serving the local ecology, with color and texture provided year-round as an additional benefit. We designed a series of natural stone paths with granite from the local quarry to connect the garden and make it easily accessible for the homeowners. Additionally, we created a wooden deck from sustainably grown timber, giving a natural surface to survey and enjoy the beautiful view of the water. The provided challenges with integrating hardscape and landscaping; however, we established a cohesive design that accommodates relaxation and entertaining. Our team even installed a fully automated irrigation system -our first- to sustain plants but consume as little water as possible. The outcome of Waterway 2, is a truly beautiful outdoor space that fulfills the family's functional needs while beautifying the property. The clients communicated they love the transformation and how it has improved their way of life by having a peaceful and relaxing outdoor space close to home. At TruDesign Studio we have raised the standard for exceptional quality of landscaping within the areas of Garden City, Murrells Inlet, Pawleys Island, Socastee, Surfside Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Conway and Sunset Beach.
