About This Project

Intracoastal Waterway 2 TruDesign Studio is excited to share the outdoor space development called Intracoastal Waterway 2, which is an impressive transformation located in the beautiful waterways at Garden City. This showed our abilities and dedication to quality and creativity, and proved our landscaping capabilities in all coastal communities from Murrells Inlet to Myrtle Beach. The design shows a tremendous amount of native planting in the form of ornamental grasses and perennials for stunning contrast against the water's edge. We also used durable materials that can withstand the elements, like natural stone pavers set in sand and composite decking, again to help the space work better and blend seamlessly with surrounding areas. One of the challenges we faced at this site was working with the very specific site topography and drainage requirements from the governing agencies. Our team came up with a unique grading solution that achieved the desired drainage and also improved access throughout the property. To that end, the overall aesthetic is to encourage relaxing and joyful use of the outdoor space, with the centerpiece water feature providing a destination for local wildlife and a soothing ambiance for the homeowners to enjoy. We also installed custom lighting in the where we could to light pathways and make the plantings a beautiful at night as they were during the day - to make their outdoor space just as enjoyable after dark as it was in the daylight. All of these visual and functional components helped create an overall usable, beautiful outdoor space that pleased the homeowner and created a beautiful oasis to unwind and entertain.
