About This Project

This has been titled "Shady Backyard Sanctuary" by Breaking Ground. The latest from Breaking Ground, a new landscaping set to create a peaceful retreat amidst a busy neighborhood at the 'Shady Backyard Sanctuary' We set out collating an oasis that balances aesthetics and practicality in service of those communities of Arlington, Bennington, Elkhorn, Fremont, Inglewood, Ithaca, Kennard, Leshara, Mead, Omaha, Valley, Venice, Washington, Waterloo, Yutan, and La Vista. The began with an uneven plot of land with very little existing trees for shade. Using premium materials, including natural stone pavers for long-lasting walkways and sustainable timber for raised garden beds, our skilled landscapers created beautiful spaces. Drainage was the single biggest issue to overcome however and by creating a considered grading plan we were able to keep runoff away from the house whilst also maintaining the visual beauty of the landscape. A large pergola, custom-built from cedar, makes up the central feature of the sanctuary by creating a shaded area for relaxing on warm, sunny days. A shaded lanai is surrounded by easy-care native plants ferns and hostas that create a quiet oasis of calm. The pathway has a gently winding design that connects different outdoor seating spaces and encourages wandering and relaxation. Finally, we installed low landscape lighting that adds nicely to the atmosphere, illuminating the beauty of the plants and the charmer of the landscape after sunset. A bubbling water feature was the last addition, providing soothing sounds plus it draws local wildlife, further completing the sanctuary. The result, a stunning transformation that made our client happy as a lark being able to enjoy their newfound oasis replete with their own slice of paradise in backyard.
