Garden To Life Landscaping Laura and John’s Dream Landscape Located in Santa Cruz, the landscaping for Laura and John is a showcase for Garden To Life Landscaping. The vision for this transformation was the innovation of an outdoor sanctuary, with seamless integration in accordance with the natural beauty of the area. Beauty played a role in the too, with an exquisite repertoire of native plants selected for suitability to the local conditions and local wildlife. We added colorful California poppies, perfumed lavender, and luscious ferns, blending in with the original landscape. We then added a minimalistic, winding path created from local flagstone, both functional and beautiful. A major challenge we had to contend with was the slope on the property. We had the very skilled Land and Ye crew grade the land to create tiered garden beds which added layers and also created great drainage for water runoff. Not only that, but we even built a passive irrigation system to help conserve water while providing everything the plants need. The last step was adding a comfy outdoor lounge area, including a nice pergola made of sustainably harvested timber. It turned out to be an ideal gathering space for family and friends aided by the sounds of a new water feature that provides both calm and dynamic visual interest. Laura and John were so pleased with the change, stating it added more beauty and provided the perfect escape outside for some relaxation and entertainment.
