About This Project

Fire Pits by Geoscapes Inc. This was completed by Geoscapes Inc. entitled "Fire Pits," and included a beautiful yard enhancement for a selective client in the beautiful areas of Alger, Bellingham, Ferndale, Geneva, Lummi Island, and Sudden Valley. The entailed creating a perfect gathering place for families and friends, artfully combining common use and appealing aesthetics. The most interesting feature of this is a custom fire pit built with locally sourced stone that mirrors the natural tones of the landscape. The fire pit features thoughtful durable weather-resistant seating, with comfortable outdoor cushions, that facilitates gathering without regard to any particular season. Flickering LED lighting was included at strategic locations for lightly dulling down the outdoor lighting during fire pit evenings. Uneven contours and ridges were discovered in the client's property and designed into a unique tiered design that not only makes this area more stable but visually interesting and deep. The land was graded and finished with sensibility for drainage, as we did not want water to gather near the fire pit, and maintaining the contours of the lot added another component. Lush native plantings were installed around the fire pit, emphasizing our business model of sustainability and appreciation of local ecology. These complimentary plantings not only increased aesthetics and privacy but act as hosting methods for attracting local wildlife. The end result is captivating and completely exceeded the expectations of the client. A tranquil setting in a natural environment in flickering firelight has become a favorite place for gathering with family and enjoying the evenings.
