Plantings by Geoscapes Inc. Geoscapes Inc. is excited to present our most recent landscaping ‘Plantings,’ a beautiful metamorphosis that demonstrates our dedication to quality and creativity, inspired by life in the Pacific Northwest. Working in the beautiful communities of Alger, Bellingham, Ferndale, Geneva, Lummi Island, and Sudden Valley, we took on the challenge of improving the outdoor space for a private residence while mirroring both aesthetics, and utility, with the landscaping. The incorporated a complex matrix of native plants, perennial gardens, and ornamental structures that fit in with the surrounding landscape. In addition to using quality materials, we handled eco-friendly soil amendments and embraced locally sourced plants to promote sustainable growth. This intention for local plant material fostered local bio-evolution and reduced the ecological footprint of the landscapes, making it a win-win for client and community. One notable challenge was the natural slope of the property, which required some creative ideas to create proper drainage and soil stability. Our experienced team designed a series of terraced beds lined with natural stone walls that served their purpose, but were also aesthetically appealing. Further to this point, we created a drip irrigation system to apply proper proportions for water usage, effectively and conservatively. The finished product was remarkable. The color and structure of the plants, flowing with established corresponding hardscaping, created a most seamless transition from inside to outdoor. Our clients were thrilled, stating that the new landscaping improved the look of their home, while providing a zen and aesthetically pleasing space for family gatherings and personal relaxing.
