At DK Ranch, we embraced the challenge to find a place where beauty met function. The goal of creating a native plant garden where the plants can thrive in the Texas climate was very important to us. Not only did this goal promote sustainability and enhance the aesthetics of the property, but it also provided color and visual interest throughout the year. Utilizing low-maintenance materials, we selected native plants and high-quality plants that were drought resistant. DK Ranch also features an expansive outdoor living space with a custom stone patio and fire pit built for gathering and relaxation. The stone was locally quarried, enhancing the natural beauty of the area and ensuring that the stone was durable enough to withstand the elements. Our team planned for every element of the patio to relate to the building and landscape creating an ideal outdoor space for enjoyment. Next, our team developed a new irrigation system that properly managed the distinct water needs for the ranch, meeting the challenge of varying terrain and different types of soil. Our team took great care in the design of the to ensure every plant would get the water it needs while conserving water in the process. We have also designed pathways of decorative gravel to provide guests with directions through the property to promote ease of access and encourage guests to explore the area. The addition of strategic lighting throughout the space, created a special ambiance in the evenings. The end result is a magnificent landscape that faithfully captures the client's vision with the craftsmanship, artistry and quality of care that we provide at Texas Custom Turf.
