About This Project

Lake Home The 'Lake Home' landscaping address by Landcrafters - Michael A. Manke, ASLA, sits on the banks of a beautiful lake, with scenic views and access to outdoor living areas; combining nature with practicality and function. We serve the communities of Brookfield, Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, Whitefish Bay, Fox Point, Bay Side, and Lake Country, by creating spaces to enjoy your outdoor living area. The work commenced with a complete site analysis to determine what existed on the site and what challenges we had, such as grading and vegetation that could be problematic. The team graded the site and installed infrastructure to create positive grading and drainage and maintain the natural features that existed. Landscaping included native plants capable of surviving in that climate and with the capability of drawing wildlife. The signature items included a custom stone walkway on the site with locally quarried bluestone to a lakeside patio for outdoor living and entertaining. Durable and weather resistant furniture were used to create an inviting space with a fire pit for evening gatherings. To create the perfect ambience, landscape lighting was strategically installed to highlight the space and allow the flood to the outdoor living space long into the evening. Sustainable practices were utilized in the materials of the driveway, including the permeable pavers, to allow for water infiltration and minimize drainage of site runoff. Materials selected reflected the natural state of the surrounding area, to maximize built structure to landscape transitions. The concluded with a stunning and breathtaking retreat that significantly exceeded the expectations of our client; ultimately providing necessary respite and an excellent venue to entertain family. The Lake Home not only added significant value to the property but contributed to the lives of those using it, showcasing the commitment to quality enabling Landcrafters and the continued use of craftsmen/quality resources.
