Bristol Avenue Rear Yard

Outline: Rear Yard - Bristol Avenue As designed and build by The Office of Jeffrey F. Gamboni, the Bristol Avenue Rear Yard exemplifies the harmony of careful design and horticultural workmanship in landscaping. Located in Stockton, this transformed an underutilized space into an inviting outdoor refuge with the správna mixture of aesthetics and function. The posed the issue of a slope, which meant we needed some clever things to get drainage and access right. We developed tiered planting beds out of locally sourced materials that were sustainable and provided visual interest and structural integrity. The planting beds were filled with a broad selection of native plants that are tough and appropriate for the local animals and climate to assure seasonality through the seasons. In addition to the plantings and beds, we installed a custom stone pathway that meanders through the yard, laid using natural flagstone that augmented the organic feeling of the yard. This pathway was not only a designated route; it connected different features of the yard with naturalistic flair and led you back into a seating area comprised of handcrafted wooden benches and a prominent fire pit for family nights or evening peace under the stars. We also built and installed an efficient, good-neighbor irrigation system that minimized excessive water use while still allowing the plants to maintain their health. The system was placed into the landscape as a function of good design and for ease of use by the family to keep the yard lush and inviting, especially during the hotter months when everyone wants to be outside. After its finish, the Bristol Avenue Rear Yard provided the owners with an aesthetically pleasing garden for their enjoyment and relaxation. The final product made the client very happy as they were thrilled with their backyard renovation and complimented The Office of Jeffrey F. Gamboni for their quality work. The degree of satisfaction and delight of addressing the owners' needs, even if they were unexpected, is a testament to a quality design and build.
