FREE CONTENT | Downtown | Client: Crystal Pools LLC Crystal Pools LLC is proud to introduce our 'Downtown' landscaping . A beautiful facelift in the center of Columbia. This was further complicated by a large number of supporting partners who applied for dollars to undertake similar efforts that would bring new economic life to an underutilized urban area both functionally and aesthetically to those communities including Arcadia Lakes, Blythewood, Cayce, Elgin, Forest Acres, West Columbia, Lexington, Chapin, Aiken and Charleston and York. The includes a balance of native plantings, ornamental trees, and colourful flower beds that have been specifically selected for their ability to thrive in South Carolina. We used long-lasting, sustainable materials as permeable pavers in the walkways and seating areas to add interest and allow water to be drained sustainably. At the heart of our grounds there is a custom water feature which includes a well-established pond, waterfall and surrounding gardens full of native plants that attract local wildlife and provide a peaceful spot for visitors to sit and unwind. The uneven topography of the site presented a challenge in grading and ensuring drainage as well as making the movement of our box trucks in and out of the site more difficult. The dynamic nature of the soil expansion required experienced collaboration with landscape architects and we were able to create tiered planting areas that addressed both of these concerns while providing a level of depth and dimension to the space. The end result is a stunning landscape in equilibrium between nature and the city. The latest addition of lush greenery, colorful blooms, and spacious gathering areas has made Downtown a favorite community destination. A very pleased client complimented the high quality of work and craftsmanship as well as the attention to detail and how this has improved the overall look and use of the space.
