Info: Foundation Beds by Kevin Catalano Gardening & Design At Kevin Catalano Gardening & Design, we are passionate turning plain outdoor two-dimensions into gorgeous landscapes that complement and enrich homes. Foundation Beds is another recent iteration of our commitment to quality design and creativity for clients throughout Cos Cob, Glenville, Greenwich, North Stamford, Old Greenwich, Riverside, and Stamford. We designed and installed formal foundation beds to complement the architecture of their home. After some deliberation over the surroundings, it was clear that all the elements needed to fit together and compliment each other instead of competing with one another, not to mention the need for fusing an inviting nature to the home itself. For the perennial plants, our team chose a selection of colorful daylilies, hardy hostas and aromatic lavender to provide year-round visual interest. Perhaps the biggest challenge was the slope and configuration of land bordering the structure that needed to be dealt with in a creative and aesthetic manner. We added natural stone edging to delineate the beds, contain soil and add rustic appeal. We have used quality organic mulch to retain moisture and prevent weeds so that the plants can grow well. In the end, the beautiful foundation bed improved the home curb appeal but also expressed the personality of the homeowner. This shade was able to bring the property to life with its fruits and texture bringing the Mr Client to a lavish home feeling. We ensured that the foundation beds would remain in place and flourish over the years by combining our attention to detail with our conscientious approach to using sustainable materials.
