Seminole Drive Landscape Session completed by DWY Landscape Architects : The Seminole Drive landscape successfully showcases the aesthetics of the landscape and the functions of the landscape dedicated to enhancing the outdoor living spaces of the houses on the prestigious Seminole Drive. The aspirational consisted of an entire landscape restoration featuring sumptuous native plantings, refined hardscapes, and eco-friendly water management systems. The included a beautiful selection of drought-tolerant plants that were selected based on their looks and their ability to grow in Florida's subtropical conditions. The use of quality materials (i.e. locally sourced stone for paths, wood trelises constructed on site) helped to keep a unified oasis feeling. The team also cleverly introduced outdoor lighting to enhance the beauty of the landscape at night so that the area is as beautiful at night as it is during the day. Site having uneven topography was one of the major challenges faced in keeping the layout balanced. To combat this, the DWY team used creative grading techniques that not only mitigated the vertical discrepancies but also improved the functional flow of the landscape. The end product, a beautifully appointed garden to relax, enjoy a meal and even a water feature to calm the mind. The end design was a hit with the client, grateful for the extreme need of detail and quality of work from DWY Landscape Architects. With the home transformed and curb appeal increased, the surrounding affected created a sanctuary, not just for the newly added ecosystem, but theirs, as local wildlife sought out the area for sustenance, reclaiming a new natural balance in local density, all to the rhythms of nature.
