Lake Washington View Residence Noriko Marshall Landscape Architecture is pleased to introduce the Lake Washington View Residence, a remarkable landscape in which its landscaping relates to the amazing views of Lake Washington. Found in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, it supports our investment of unique ideas and high standards of excellence in communities like Bellevue, Mercer Island, and Medina. The developed with a full site analysis that determined both opportunities and challenges of the new construction. The steep slope required creative design solutions that not only incorporate safety but enhance the landscape too. Our team created terraces with locally-sourced stone to develop beautiful, multi-level garden spaces that engage with the immediate landscape. Choosing native plants will support greater biodiversity and lower maintenance, while maintaining the ecological consistency of our work. In order to extend the outdoor experience and create an fully usable area, we added a custom patio using natural bluestone pavers that were sourced for their durability and color tone that reflect the surrounding environment. A fire-pit area enhances the coziness and serves as a gathering space for friends and family. Along with the lighting we installed around the key features of the site, the interior and exterior will provide an opportunity to experience the beauty of the landscape by day and evening. There were also drainage challenges on the site which we addressed through our design approach to incorporate a sustainable system to manage rainwater run-off to contribute to preserving the integrity of the garden without losing appearance. The overall result of the is beautiful, cohesive landscape work which ties into the views of Lake Washington and provides a retreat for the homeowners. Our attention to detail and quality workmanship has fully satisfied the client and is a strong example of landscape architecture work in the area.
