Summary: Condo Deck Landscape Plan Conducted by Noriko Marshall Landscape Architecture, the Condo Deck Landscape Plan features a stunning transformation of outdoor living in a contemporary urban area. This was located in Seattle, specifically for a modern condominium complex. In addition to the aesthetics, this provided functional outdoor space. Our team was challenged with optimizing a small deck area to offer an inviting retreat from a busy urban lifestyle while tying into the existing context. We provided a native palette of plants and sustainable materials, while still being inventive with our design. The landscape design included a robust selection of plant materials such as ornamental grasses, flowering perennials, and evergreen shrubs that provided visual interest, texture, and seasonal color. The deck area utilized sustainably sourced hardwood materials for the decking that ties comfortably into built-in seating for the residents to comfortably enjoy the outdoors. Beautiful stone pavers have been added to lead to a fire pit area, inviting gatherings under the stars. With drainage issues inherently present to the design of the deck, our team has effectively addressed this challenge with a drainage solution that safely moves water away from living spaces. The drainage solution enhances the longevity of the deck materials and the vegetation used in the landscape plan. The end product is a coherent and inviting outdoor space that adds functionality while enhancing the visual quality of the condominiums outdoor living space. The client was happy and as a result, has a beautifully designed and landscaped deck area to retreat from the busy urban environment . This is another example of Noriko Marshall Landscape Architecture's dedication to creating quality, functional, and inviting urban landscaped designs.
