Retaining Walls by Canopy Landscapes Canopy Landscapes recently wrapped up a stunning retaining wall that dramatically transformed a sloped yard in Ann Arbor, maximizing its use and aesthetics. The challenge for our expert team was how to stabilize the hillside while providing proper drainage and erosion control. We chose to use local, durable natural stone for our wall product because of its aesthetics and compatibility with the existing natural landscape. Three-tiered retaining walls were designed and built to create planting zones, giving the landscape depth and a chance for colorful flower beds and lots of greenery. Our landscape architects worked closely with the client to incorporate native plantings that would thrive in the local environment and minimize water use. The allowed us to focus on and maintain a precision that would overcome issues such as uneven ground and root systems. In the end, we created a series of stunning retaining walls that provide both practical structure and elegant design elements of the yard. The was well received by our client who called the "professional and well built." The not only gave greater function to the outdoor space, but it also enhanced the curb appeal to the property.
