The Burt Lake Cottage Design project stands as a testament to careful planning and thoughtful execution, embodying the clients’ vision of a dream home on the picturesque shores of Indian River, MI. Our team was entrusted with the task of translating their aspirations into a tangible reality, leading them through each step of the process with expertise and dedication. The design features striking nine-foot ceilings in both the foyer and great room, enhancing the spaciousness and allowing natural light to flood the interi. The exposed log roof system in the great room not only adds a rustic charm but also serves as a focal point that seamlessly connects the indoor and outdoor environments. Central to the home’s design is the open-concept layout on the main level, which fosters family interaction and creates a welcoming atmosphere for gatherings. A dining table designed to accommodate twelve provides the perfect setting for family dinners and celebrations. The first floor boasts a large kitchen equipped with modern amenities, a walk-in pantry for ample storage, and an office that is spacious enough to be repurposed as a master bedroom in the future. Additional features include a well-appointed laundry room and a mudroom that offers abundant storage solutions, complemented by a conveniently located half bath. The three-season sunroom, which opens to an expansive patio, extends the living space outdoors, ideal for enjoying summer evenings and family barbecues. Ascending to the second floor reveals a luxurious master suite along with two additional bedrooms, a cozy sitting room, and a built-in nook designed to house a grand piano, perfectly merging elegance with practicality. Throughout the project, our team prioritized the clients’ lifestyle needs, ensuring that every aspect of the design maximized their lakefront footprint while incorporating all of their must-haves into a unique and stunning home. This meticulous attention to detail and craftsmanship culminated in a residence that not only meets but exceeds their dreams.
