Stilwell Landscaping by Zach's Lawn & Landscaping Located in the beautiful surroundings of Stilwell, this landscaping embodies the hard work and quality service Zach's Lawn & Landscaping is known for throughout the Kansas City area. The took what was a large, underutilized outdoor space and turned it into a splendid retreat that matched functionality with the natural landscape. To complete the design, Zach's Lawn & Landscaping fashioned a delightful mix of native plants, lush ornamental grasses, and colorful gardens of perennials that work well together to create a visual harmony as each selection changes with the seasons. If any element of the , however, engages attention, it is the use of high-quality materials, such as locally sourced stone for the pathways and durable wooden retaining walls. A lovely water feature, complete with a gently flowing stream and cascading waterfall, completes the landscape in both a tranquil and useful way to define the outdoor living area. As a highlighted feature within a partially shaded landscape, the water feature provides a visual center amidst the rich green landscape design while enhancing the function of the space for the homeowners. One of the more difficult aspects of this was managing the diverse topography across the Butler property to provide optimal drainage while meeting the aesthetic function of the design. Through planning and implementation of the design grading plan, Zach's Lawn & Landscaping was able to mitigate drainage related issues while managing stormwater runoff, while enhancing the overall design of the space for the client. The final result is a breathtaking design! It is pleasing from the street, and even more pleasing for the homeowners as a design aesthetic that provides a refuge from the day.
