This magnificent began with the owners' desire to create a peaceful water feature that complimented the natural landscape as a space to unwind and enjoy. The finished includes a beautiful pond measuring approximately 20 feet by 10 feet with natural stone edging that fits right into nature. We used beautiful granite boulders that were locally sourced to create a rustic, natural, and attractive border that is durable as well. The pond includes a modern filtration system with crystal clear water maintaining a healthy habitat for fish along with aquatic plants. One of the challenges that we faced during construction was the excessively steep and uneven surrounding site. Our team worked through the installation process and created an even slope area that adds to the landscape functionality while still keeping the flow around the pond natural and visual appealing. We also resolved drainage issues by positioning the pond to collect rainwater runoff, thus helping with not only the ponds water level but also erosion of the soil around the pond area. We also added local plants (such as water lilies, cattails, and ferns) to beautify the pond while generating a habitat for wildlife to return and interact with. A whimsical wooden footbridge crosses the pond to invite visitors into the calmness of the space. Finally, LED solar-powered lights were added illuminating the pond to create an enjoyable, relaxing atmosphere into the evenings. The finished has provided enjoyment for the client's life, creating a beautiful retreat tucked into their backyard.
