Duneland Beach Fire Pit Planned Environment Associates is excited to announce the 'Duneland Beach Fire Pit' is complete. This outdoor transformation, located in the peaceful coastal community of Dune Acres, is the product of thoughtful design, which provides a beautiful site and social space for family and friends to gather in a peaceful setting next to the nearby lake shore. The fire pit is designed to promote the aesthetic and physical characteristics of the surrounding natural landscape through the use of local natural rock. This gathering space possesses a circular shape with seating materials that offer weather resistance and longevity. Every material, in fact, was chosen to promote physical warmth and a welcoming environment that reflects the coastal charm of Dune Acres. Among the many design challenges posed by the site's sandy characteristics was ensuring positive drainage through the fire pit and surrounding landscape. The landscape was designed with an innovative permeable stone base along with native grasses planted around the pavilion. This not only made the design aesthetically pleasing, but it also accomplished natural erosion control. The end result was a fire pit that was surrounded by a lush planting of plants and some soft lighting that created an enchanting retreat for evening gatherings. The client was delighted by the outcome, which respected the essential purpose of the fire pit, along with the connective aspect between the aesthetics of the and surrounding landscape.
