About This Project

Redpath EG Rall Jr Landscape Design & Horticultural Services is excited to present the Redpath located in the heart of Pennsylvania. The undertaking was extensive in landscaping improvements of a private residence while enhancing the natural beauty in a transition that considers habitat. The consisted of a complex plan which included a multi-tiered garden consisting of locally sourced, natural stone retaining walls and pathways. The material pallate incorporated permeable pavers for eco-friendly driveways which not only added to aesthetics, but provided for water draining as well, which is an issue in the area. Native plants, such as the bright and varied azaleas, as well as multi-season hardiness ferns, were placed for low maintenance care and to support the local ecosystem. An existing slope on the property was perhaps the largest challenge presented in the Redpath , which the team was able to lay out terraced levels to alleviate not only soil erosion, and usability, but create a scenic escape from constraints. Custom irrigation systems were laid out as well for upkeep, ensuring the garden was green and healthy even on the driest of days. The aesthetics created a fusing of hard and softscapes that pleased the client. A seating unit surrounded by blooming fragrant shrubs, and a small fountain for water use created the perfect place for the family to gather as well as relax in comfort. This projct not only increased the aesthetic value of the property but also the marketability for international investment in an area that had little of either.
