LIVING WALL Botanical Visions Botanical Visions, in partnership with local builders Plantone, proudly announced the completion of a unique Living Wall in Boca Raton, which has been designed to beautify as well as sustainably transform the local community. This turned an empty exterior wall to a living vertical garden with a variety of selected native and tropical plants adapted to the South Florida climate. Showcasing more than 200 plants, including ferns, succulents and ornamental grasses, The Living Wall is filled with an array of colors and textures, creating visual interest, dynamism and contrast. Our team devised a beautiful living work of art that remains stunning while requiring virtually no upkeep; high-quality, green materials such as lightweight planting trays and a state-of-the-art irrigation system were used in the process to ensure this was as easy as possible. A key challenge was achieving appropriate drainage and watering in a vertical format. With installation from our professional landscapers, an efficient irrigation system that directs moisture directly to the root system (as opposed to excessive moisture or misting) to help the grass grow. We also made sure that we chose drought-resistant species so that it will consume minimum water, and this is in line with our sustainability goals. The end product is a stunning vertical garden that serves an aesthetic function on one hand and helps with air purification, new flora and fauna, on the other hand. The client is extremely delighted with the results, asserting that the Living Wall has become a centerpiece of the outdoor area, enjoyed by both residents and visitors, and contributing to the entire ambiance of the space.
