Built for the residents and towns of Ada, Bailey, Belmont, Casnovia, Cedar Springs, Comstock Park, Conklin, Grand Rapids, Grandville, Kent City, Marne, Northview, Rockford, Sand Lake, Sparta, Walker, East Grand Rapids, Forest Hills, Plainfield Township. A site analysis was the first step in the process, particularly because the client had a sloped backyard with other challenges. Our tradespeople build a durable but visually pleasing multi-tier retaining wall of natural stone. In addition to its usefulness as a soil erosion barrier, the wall tidies up the yonder in planting manual beds, separating appropriate levels to inject depth and texture into the landscape. A large area of pavers that blend well with the surrounding environment, was used to complete the look of the retaining wall. It featured integrated lighting that could invite you in on an evening and planters that give you colour and seasonal interest. The had its fair share of challenges, including a pockmarked landscape and pre-existing drainage issues. We solved all these in our by installing an effective drain system carefully laid out so water was sent away from the retaining wall and patio to ensure stability and usability for the years to come. Final thoughts: this ended with a beautiful outdoor refuge, taking advantage of a lost space to create an outdoor entertaining venue, ideal for family reunions or just enjoying outdoors with friends.
