Grey Goose Pond Louis Fusco Landscape Architects has completed Grey Goose Pond, a that exemplifies the combination of nature and design elements. Located in rural surroundings, the large-scale landscaping transformed an underutilized space into a tranquil retreat, appealing to both the eye and the soul. At the core of Grey Goose Pond is the well-designed water feature, which serves as an anchor and a habitat for local wildlife. The design team used gorgeous natural stone from nearby quarries to create a waterfall that cascades into an adjacent pond. Surrounding the pond are native plantings that create an aesthetic landscape that is also an environmental asset a site that is both beautiful and sustainable, to live with very little maintenance. One of the challenges that the design team faced was the change in the site's topography. The design team balanced site elevations through terracing, which ultimately increased drainage and allowed beautiful views of the pond on each terrace. The terracing model facilitated unique seating opportunities, constructed of reclaimed wood and composite, all designed to enhance the experience of the visitor and the new environment. The also included custom pathways, made of permeable pavers. The permeable pavers were integrally designed to fit with the nature of the site, while contributing to the environment by providing access and minimizing runoff to the pond. In the end, Grey Goose Pond became a stunning site that pleased the client and provided a home for people and wildlife. The became a notable example of quality design and environmental stewardship; a legacy for our next s in Westchester County, Fairfield County, and beyond.
