Front Entries by D & M Outdoor Living Spaces At D & M Outdoor Living Spaces, we recently had the privileged opportunity to implement a stunning landscaping d 'Front Entries' that redesigned the front entry of a lovely home located in Hinsdale. This demonstrated our focus on quality products and inventive designs for homeowners in neighboring metropolitan areas such as Brookfield, Downers Grove, Elmhurst, and many more, resulted in remarkable landscaping for the front entry of a nice home in Hinsdale. This was inspired by the homeowner's opportunity to create a hygiene and inviting entryway that enhanced the architectural elements of the front entrance of the home and the home's curb appeal. The design employed a unique selection of natural stone pavers and decorative gravel to construct a stunning landscape pathway to the front entry of the home. The use of these decorative ones allows a durable but elegant surface with dimension, texture, and colors compatible with the neutral tones of the home's facade. To complete the landscape, our horticulturist included selections of native plants and flowering perennial selection. Each of the plants picked for their durability and seasonal qualities To create a layered but sustainable landscape, our horticulturist implemented a few native plant varieties as well as flowering perennials that are suitable for our daily climatic conditions, while minimizing the need for weekly maintenance and labor. Additionally, our horticulturist was able to layer the selections together to provide color and texture throughout the growing seasons. We also faced the challenge of grading and sloping terrain at the entrance of the home. After a few planning sessions and some engineering solutions to correct the grading problems we leveled the space by constructing a subtle retaining wall manufactured from locally sourced boulders. While this design solution solved the grading problems it also added an authentic sense of rustic and rugged charm, giving the landscape space a completely different feel. In the end, the final was beautiful, and the homeowner were super happy with their new front entry. They expressed that all the changes made a huge difference in their experience of coming and going every day, and even the experience their guests took home after visiting. They thought the pathways were functional and attractive, while the lush greenery and natural materials added a sense of warmth.
