'Our Work' by D & M Outdoor Living Spaces At D & M Outdoor Living Spaces, we love creating outdoor spaces that are both beautiful and useful. Our most recent , entitled 'Our Work,' was an opportunity to service a family in Wheaton, where we carefully designed and constructed a colorful outdoor paradise. This involved the integration of native plantings, hardscaping, and usable outdoor living spaces. Our team of designers started by designing a custom stone patio made of local blue stone, providing a solid and impressive platform for outdoor living. Around the patio, we designed flower beds that were arranged with perennials, ornamental grasses, and seasonal color to ensure something was blooming and growing year-round! One of the wildernesses of this yard was that it was sloped. Our professional team designed and built the garden with terracing in mind. We built two natural stone raised beds that provided structural continuity and added depth of understanding and character to the landscape. With the tiered approach, we were able to plant multiple levels of planting material. Another area we added was a water feature that enhanced the peacefulness of the area - a bubbling fountain made of stone - which doubled as a focal point. A natural bubbling fountain provided soft, soothing sounds of water flowing - further encouraging the peacefulness of the space. From pre-planning the sustainable sourcing of materials to construction and installation, you could see from start to finish that we value quality landscapes and craftsmanship. The final product was a beautiful blend of hardscape and softscape that matched the intent of the opportunity and the family's lifestyle. The satisfied clients will enjoy a wonderful outdoor living space for year-round entertainment, as well as an incredible space for relaxation.
