About This Project

Brooklyn Rooftop Garden At Landstylist: landscape design ideas, curated, we are driven by a desire to develop urban space into an oasis, and the "Brooklyn Rooftop Garden" was a fantastic example of our commitment to quality, lush living above the streets of Brooklyn. This site had many challenges, such as space limitations, load concerns for roof assets, and resilient plant selections. We designed the footprint to maximize the area, and the use of vertical gardens, along with custom-built planters, assembled primarily from sustainable materials, enabled us to enhance the appearance of the garden while not compromising its required growing conditions. Lightweight soils mixtures were utilized and drainage systems were created to ensure plants remained healthy while supporting load requirements. The garden boasts a diverse range of native plants, woven together for color and texture contrast throughout the seasons. Seating arrangements throughout the garden encourage people to enjoy the space, while a decorative trellis and climbing vines provide vertical interest and privacy. To enhance these uses during the twilight hours, we installed outdoor lighting to showcase the garden’s beauty. Our clients were more than happy with the finished resultsthe rooftop had been transformed into a green oasis that they could enjoy as a tranquil retreat, while being able to show off their home to family and friends. The final results speak to the quality of Landstylist’s work, envelope and structural quality, and adds to our resume of s where a challenging site has been transformed into a one-of-a-kind landscape design. The Brooklyn Rooftop Garden showcases Landstylist’s vision of creating a balance between urban life and nature while also being a beautiful resilient feature of our client’s home.
